As shown in Figure 1, under the background of high-quality copy paper, the white part of the two bracelets has almost no blue and yellow tone, and the texture is uniform and delicate. The black skin is similar to the black skin of Russian nephrite: the black can be healed along the deep distribution of large cracks, accompanied by some brown and yellow edges. The black part of one of the bracelets is perforated, as shown in Figure 2. Figure 2, the inner ring of one of the bracelets can also be seen "black skin" In general, most of the nephrite black skin because of its distribution in the cracks and often in the surface of the raw material concave gully, of course, some of the black skin parts after cutting can also be relatively flat. After polishing, due to structural reasons, the surface of nevelite often presents a characteristic orange peel phenomenon, this orange peel grain in the strong reflection spot, the naked eye can be identified. Whether it is the skin of the raw material or the skin of the Russian material, this orange peel pattern is also more common. But the black surface of the two bracelets follows the curve of the bracelet with a smooth curve - which can cause a certain amount of suspicion. In addition, most nephrite skin is slightly weaker than the flesh, especially the highlighted nephrite, the contrast between skin and flesh is more intense, but the more concentrated light spots can still be identified in most skin parts when the strong light is reflected and illuminated. The black parts of the two bracelets, which feel a bit like old tires - the surface is worn and fuzzy, which is also questionable. If the black part is tested, it can be very accurate to identify the black part as a fake skin. As shown in Figure 3, a large number of round bubbles are scattered in the black and yellow parts, and the surface parts show circular pits due to the wear of bubbles. Figure 3. A large number of bubbles can be seen in the black part and the circular pits left by worn bubbles are compared to collect the infrared spectra of the white part and the black part of the bracelet. As shown in Figure 4, the white part shows the standard trestamole spectrum, while the black part shows multiple absorption peak bands between 1800 and 1200cm-1, showing the characteristics of organic matter. The spectra match well with Cellophane. Combined with the phenomenon of a large number of bubbles in the black part, it can be inferred that the black and yellow parts are formed by hot melt filling of organic matter. Figure 4. Comparison of infrared absorption spectra of the white part (blue line) and the black part (red line) of the bracelet For many collectors, it is a pleasure to own a good piece of jade with skin, especially lamb fat. Therefore, for a piece of art, in addition to paying attention to the authenticity of the jade quality, pros and cons, the cause of the shell also need to pay attention to, at present, we are more aware of the polishing "small material" and dyeing fake skin, and this article introduces the phenomenon of large organic glue posing as black skin has not been reported, so I hope this article can introduce the attention and vigilance of small nevelite lovers.
