My heart ached to hear the terrible news. Life is impermanent, may the dead rest in peace, pray for the living. What if there is a sudden explosion? How can I protect my life?
When an unidentified explosion occurs and may be accompanied by a chemical leak :➤ If possible, determine the location of the explosion and possible chemical leak as soon as possible. ➤ Stay away from the explosion/leak zone immediately! ➤ If something falls near you, get under a sturdy dining table or desk. When stopping the fall, move away quickly, taking care of visibly unstable floors and stairs. When exiting the building, be careful of falling debris. Do not stand in front of Windows, glass doors, or other potentially hazardous areas. ➤ Make sidewalks or streets available to first responders or others who have not yet evacuated.
If an explosion/leak occurs in the building you are in. ➤ Leave as soon as possible, but avoid contaminated areas. ➤ If there is smoke, stay low. Do not stop to go back for personal belongings or to hit. ➤ Never use elevators. If it is not possible to leave the building, or to pass through the blast area, find an area as far away from the blast area as possible, and then take protective measures in place (see in place protection).
If you're outside during an explosion, calculate the fastest way to get fresh air. Decide whether you should escape as quickly as possible or enter the nearest building and secure it in place. If you choose to flee, judge the wind direction and immediately move to the upwind direction of the explosion point.
If you are trapped in debris, use a flashlight to signal your location to rescuers if possible. ➤ Tap on a path or wall so rescuers can find your location. If possible, whistle to signal rescuers. ➤ Don't shout unless you have to. Shouting can cause you to inhale dangerous amounts of dust. ➤ Avoid unnecessary moving so you don't stir up dust. Cover your mouth and nose with whatever is handy. Dense cotton is good for filtering. Try to breathe through the material.)

If you have been told to stay home, or decide to defend in place for other reasons: use all available information and your common sense to determine when you need to flee and when you should take protective measures in place. If family and pets are around, make sure they enter the house together. Lock doors, close Windows, and close vents and fireplaces. ➤ Turn off fans and air conditioners. ➤ Hide in the inner room with as few Windows as possible. ➤ Bring your emergency supplies. ➤ Seal all doors, Windows and vents with 2-4 mm thick plastic sheets and tape. You can cut the plastic in advance to save time. When using rubber strips, first stick to the corners and then seal the edges. ➤ Local emergency response information may not be immediately available. But you should still keep an eye on TV, radio and the Internet to stay informed. END
